Puppy Pre-School at St George Vets

At St George Vets, we believe that early socialisation is just as important as vaccinations and routine health care. That’s why we offer a fun and informative Puppy Pre-School program designed to give your puppy the best possible start in life.
Our classes help your puppy build essential social skills, learn basic obedience, and grow into a confident, well-behaved member of the family. How your puppy interacts with people and other dogs in their early months can shape their behaviour for life, so early training is key.
Who Can Join?
Puppies aged 8–16 weeks, after their first vaccination, are encouraged to enrol. This age window is considered the critical socialisation period, making it the ideal time to introduce your pup to new experiences in a safe and supportive environment.
Course Details
- 🐾 Duration: 4-week course
- 🕕 When: Tuesdays, 6:00pm–7:00pm
- 💲 Cost: $220 (total for the full course)
- 👩⚕️ Trainer: Veterinary nurse Haylee
Classes are held at our clinic and are run by an experienced veterinary nurse with a passion for puppy development and behaviour.
What’s Covered?
Your puppy will learn:
- Basic commands (sit, stay, recall, etc.)
- How to interact calmly with people and other dogs
- Desensitisation to sounds (to help prevent storm phobia)
- Toilet training and managing unwanted behaviours
You’ll also gain expert advice on:
- Puppy nutrition
- Parasite prevention
- Common medical concerns
- Positive reinforcement techniques
